Quebec - Federal

The province of Quebec, under the Canada-Quebec Accord, operates its own business immigration program. The main requirement to businessmen applying to Quebec is their intention to live in the province of Quebec and to contribute to its economic development.

In common with the federal program, investors in the Quebec program must demonstrate that he/she has legally obtained a net worth of at least $800,000 CDN and his/her readiness to make a five-year investment of $400,000 CDN by signing an agreement with a financial intermediary. This amount will be invested with Investissement Quebec or one of its subsidiaries to fund a program to assist small and medium-sized businesses in Quebec. In addition, the applicant must have at least three years of management experience in a profitable and lawful qualifying business , in government or one of its agencies, or with an international organization. To assess the application of potential investor the several other factors will be taken into account. If the application is accepted, he/she will receive a Quebec Selection Certificate, the official immigration document issued by the Quebec government.

The Government of Canada admits to Quebec those business class immigrants that Quebec has selected, after due medical examination and security check.
Fee schedules:

*Fee for processing of the application by the Quebec government:
$3850 for the applicant
$150 for each dependent

*Fee for processing of the application by the Federal government:
$1050 for the applicant
$550 for spouse or common-law partner and each dependent child over 22 years
$150 for each dependent child under 22 years

**Right of permanent residence fee (Landing visa):
$490 CDN for the applicant and for spouse or common-law partner and for each dependent child over 22 years

*Fees are not refundable under any circumstances unless the CIC did not issue a visa due to problems with criminal records or medical examination.
